Job Description

International and Indigenous Languages Elementary Program Language Instructors

Online delivery/possible of some in person sessions pending enrollment Barrie/Bradford

Position Type / Hours:

Temporary 2.5 hours Saturday Mornings excluding holiday weekends.

Annual Compensation:

$28.22 4 per hour

Specific duties and responsibilities include:

Under the direction of the Supervisor of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Continuing Education School the International & Indigenous Languages Instructor is responsible for the delivery of the Boards International & Indigenous Languages program in the one of the following languages Korean Tamil Spanish Russian Hebrew and Portuguese.


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 Diploma or equivalency.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with children in a learning environment.
  • Proven ability to work in both a cooperative and independent environment.
  • Ensuring a positive and safe learning environment for all students staff and members of the public.
  • Be responsible for following the curriculum as well as making lesson plans planning activities for children. May include a minimum of two events to showcase the students international language skills for the parents (Christmas and year end).
  • Attending all necessary virtual meetings as they relate to the program
  • Effective interpersonal and leadership skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Demonstrated proficiency with computers.
  • First Aid Certification would be an asset.
  • If travel within the Boards jurisdiction is required candidates must have access to transportation.
