General Summary: Provide courteous and efficient service to all customers including patients visitors physicians and staff. Exemplify the Insight mission vision and values and act in accordance with Department and Insight policies and procedures - Customer Service:
- Greet all customers with friendly and professional manner. Handle all customer service needs above other duties
- Maintain a strong visible and positive presence on the sales floor
- Maintain sales floor coverage and follow posted schedules with regard to area assignments
- Assist customer in product selection
- Accurately and efficiently handle all transactions
- Deliver items to Hospital Guest Relations when necessary
- Attractively and neatly bag/tissue purchases
- Maintain high level of merchandise product knowledge
- Assist in maintaining shop appearance to high degree of cleanliness
- Supervises cashiering and receipting the sale of merchandise by cash and charge transactions and performs such duties as required; maintains sales records and makes daily reports and deposits
- Provides organized onthejob staff training; keeps records and makes administrative and personnel reports as necessary
- Organizing staff work schedules
- Support and maintain store sales and service goals and standards as communicated by management
- Open and close shops as needed according to established procedures including counting
- Attend and complete appropriate inservice training
- Support and model excellent service by exhibiting a positive attitude and enthusiasm toward the job and Medical Center to both internal and external customers in all forms of communication
- Maintain high awareness regarding any shortage or security issues
- Openly communicate with management any issues or ideas that would contribute to the improvement of the gift shop functions
Skills and Qualifications - 12 years retail experience preferred
- High School graduate or GED equivalent
- Working knowledge of registers and charge machines
- Good communication and math skills
- Effective team player; willing to help wherever needed
- Ability to work with a diverse customer population
- Ability to work courteously with many interruptions
- Physical ability to perform medium lifting (approx. 20lbs)
