Position Highlights:
- Dedicated psychooncology suite within Supportive Oncology floor of flagship cancer institute
- Outpatient clinic within premier cancer research and treatment institute
- Provide psychiatric consultation and treatment of oncology patients
- Opportunities for subspecialty development
- Established integrated services with oncologic teams and steady referral streams
- Joining thriving PsychoOncology section of 20 LCSWs 2 Psychologists 5 Psychotherapists and RN/CMA support along with substantial support programs
- PsychoOncology administratively structured within Department of Supportive Oncology that promotes interdisciplinary collaboration with Cancer Nutrition Cancer Rehabilitation (Neuropsychology) Integrative Oncology Palliative Medicine Patient Navigation Senior Oncology and Survivorship.
- Academic appointment opportunity with Wake Forest Baptist School of Medicine
- Academic (Heme Onc/Palliative Medicine Fellows Psychiatry residents and medical student rotations) and research time could be allocated. Weekly education and research meetings.
- Fulltime weekday work schedule 1 in 8 weekends Virtual CL call coverage
Ideal Candidate:
- CL Fellowship training or Internal Medicine/Psychiatry background preferred
- Psychooncology or related experience preferred
- Demonstrates appropriate critical thinking and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaborate in a collegial care team
- Comfortable with onsite and virtual environments
