Description

We are seeking exceptional BE/BC career Hospitalists to join our expanding team Atrium Health Wake Forest BaptistDavie Medical Center.

  • Must be MD/DO
  • Three years Internal Medicine Residency required
  • North Carolina licensure or eligible
  • Physicians are appointed clinical adjunct faculty at Wake Forest School of Medicine
  • Schedule: week on/week off

Number of hospitalist beds/census: 36 beds

DMC has an aICU.

In addition to their core expertise managing the clinical problems of acutely ill hospitalized patients hospitalist is responsible for:

  1. Admitting adult patients with medical problems for hospital stay.
  2. Giving prompt and complete attention to all patient care needs including diagnosis treatment and the performance of medical procedures (within their scope of practice).
  3. Collaborating communicating and coordinating with all physicians from other subspecialties and health care personnel caring for hospitalized patients.
  4. Attending and providing inpatient medicine consults and postoperative care to other medical and surgical specialties.
  5. Employing quality and processing improvement techniques.
  6. Conducting discharge planning and discharging patients.
  7. Safely transitioning patient care within the hospital and from the hospital to the community which may include oversight of care in postacute care facilities.
  8. Efficiently using hospital and health care resources.
  9. Training or supervising medical students residents and other health care professionals.
  10. Responding to and managing any Rapid Responses or Codes
  11. Assessing patients and developing appropriate plans as needed for any acute events of changes in patient status
  12. Coordinating with nursing staff and responding to questions/concerns as needed
  13. Providing appropriate handoff/signout at the conclusion of their shift to the day team
  14. Determine patients that require transfer to tertiary hospital and contacting PAL line to facilitate
