Open Call for Vice Principals
Northland School Division
Northland School Division is now inviting applications for the role of Vice Principal for theschool year. Northland School Division is seeking educational leaders who have a passion for Indigenous education and will help us achieve excellence in First Nations Mtis and Inuit (FNMI) education. Leadership positions are limited.
Major Responsibilities include:
- A passion for promoting educational success for Indigenous learners especially in their language and culture. Fluency in language and experience in the culture would be an asset.
- Will work closely with the school council and the community to build relationships in order to create a positive inviting school environment that is integrated into the life of the community.
- Will actively seek local partnerships to create innovative program opportunities to engage and challenge students and promote a sense of pride and accomplishment.
- Is a strong instructional leader who will work with staff to ensure that students have high quality learning experiences.
- Leads by example and is active in the life of the community.
- Must hold or qualify for Alberta teaching certification and a Leadership Quality Standard certificate.
- Must hold a Masters degree or willingness to complete a Masters degree within a mutually agreed upon timeline.
- Has a minimum of 5 successful years of teaching experience in rural and/or Indigenous communities.
