PartTime Controller for Nonprofit Organizations

We are looking for a dedicated personable handson Controller seeking a dynamic opportunity to guide our clients and provide transformative accounting services. Successful candidates must be comfortable working with multiple clients both virtually and onsite. The Controller will interact with clients their staff Board of Directors and Finance Committees on a regular basis.
Responsibilities
Serve as the outsourced Controller/CFO for multiple nonprofit clients. Your responsibilities would include:
- Transforming nonprofit client financial departments to help them meet their mission!
- Financial reporting for management and Board decision making and presentations
- Recommending and implementing improvements to accounting operations internal controls and compliance policies and procedures supporting client strategy and best practices
- Transactional activities including accounts payable accounts receivable (revenue recognition and billing) and payroll general accounting reconciliations monthend close and maintaining workpapers
- Analysis and data visualization budgeting and forecasting
- Grant management allocations and funder reporting
- Prepare for and manage annual audit
- Client and staff training opportunities
Qualifications
- Passionate about working in or supporting nonprofit organizations
- Bachelors Degree required preferably in Accounting or Finance
- 57plusyears accounting experience
- Experience working in a remote environment preferred
- Ability to manageand leadmultiple clients work independentlyand be responsiveon a timely basis
- Demonstrated strongMicrosoftExcel skills
- Experience with multiple GL packages especially QuickBooks andelectronic bill paysystems
- Nonprofitaccountingpublicaccounting experience and/or consulting experienceisa plusbut not required
- CPA certification is a plus
- BilingualEnglish/Spanish a plus

- Standard 35hour fulltime work week with eligibility for paid overtime for nonexempt employees
- For fulltime positions we offer:
- 4 WEEKS PAID TIME OFF generally consisting of 100 hours paid vacation to start with eligibility for additional vacation based on tenure and a minimum 40 hours sick time subject to applicable state law

Starting hourly rate is $50 to $65 per hour for this nonexempt position.Total compensation may increase with overtime pay and eligibility for various bonuses. A professional development reimbursement and technology stipend are also provided on an annual basis.
