Provide application test and quality support for major customers for Coherent optical networking products primarily optical transceivers/transponders. This includes troubleshooting technical issues engaging with customers and answering technical questions and making modifications to products in the field as needed.
Support customer qualifications of Coherent products. Emphasis on handling issues associated with meeting customer performance and reliability requirements.
Analyze customer specifications and establish gap analyses
Provide customer system design feedback to marketing and engineering
Provide occasional technical and customer support at trade shows as needed
Work as a team member with Sales other FAEs worldwide
Some travel may be required as global conditions permit
Depending on location this position may be responsible for the and maintenance of the ISOand/or other applicable standards that may apply to the relevant roles and responsibilities within the Quality Management System and Environmental Management System.
Education & Experience
University graduate degree in engineering/sciences preferred
Minimum of 2 years in the communications industry with working experience in technical positions
Customerfacing experience a plus
Problem solving skills related to electronic/electrical mechanical and/or photonics products.
Experience with optical networking equipment including transceivers a plus.
Skills
Good communication skills command of the verbal and written English language
Computer literate education and experience w/ Microsoft products Oracle Salesforce
Can work independently and within a team environment
