As a transportation driver you will be ensuring the safe and comfortable transportation of residents to scheduled medical appointments outings and other approved activities. This includes assisting residents with loading and unloading facility vehicles maintaining vehicle safety and ensuring a positive community image. For insurance purposes you must be willing to undergo a background check and preemployment testing up to and including a valid drivers license and ages restrictions of great than 24.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist residents with safely entering and exiting facilityapproved vehicles.
- Safely transport residents to medical appointments outings and other activities.
- Maintain the interior and exterior of facility vehicles to ensure safety and comfort.
- Monitor vehicle maintenance logs and coordinate regular service (e.g. oil changes tire rotations).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Must be flexible with work hours in case of laterunning appointments or activities.
- Demonstrate and maintain competency in clinicalbased transfer techniques including:
- Assisting mobile residents into and out of vans.
- Transferring residents into and out of wheelchairs.
- Properly securing wheelchairbound residents in vehicles.
- Must be able to lift transfer and mobilize patients weighing up to 70 pounds in confined spaces.
- Make quick sound decisions involving a highly dependent resident base.
