WHO WE NEEDROMs Learning & Programs team is seeking enthusiastic and dependable Lead Assistants to join the ROM Summer ClubTorontos dynamic summer day camp rooted in creativity discovery and inclusion. For over 80 years Summer Club has delivered experiential learning inspired by ROMs worldclass collections. As a Lead Assistant you will take on a leadership role within the assistant team helping ensure the smooth delivery of camp activities while supporting staff campers and caregivers. HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT- Provide daily leadership and mentorship to a team of Camp Assistants and volunteers helping them perform their responsibilities effectively and confidently.
- Support key camp routines such as morning greetings attendance break and lunch supervision and endofday cleanup.
- Supervise extended care programs and ensure a welcoming safe environment for campers before and after regular camp hours.
- Deliver the same core responsibilities as Camp Assistants including preparing materials assisting instructors guiding children through activities and supporting field trips.
- Serve as a positive role model for staff and campers always demonstrating respectful inclusive behavior.
- Maintain clear communication with caregivers and assist with sharing updates about the campers daily experience.
- Collaborate closely with instructors and the broader Summer Club team to ensure camp operations run smoothly and safely.
WHAT YOU BRING- At least two 2 years of experience working with children in educational or camp environments.
- Proven leadership abilities and a desire to support the growth and success of others.
- Strong communication conflict resolution and organizational skills.
- A positive adaptable and teamoriented attitude.
- Strong assets include:
- First Aid/CPR certification.
- Coaching or lifeguard certifications.
- Secondary education or coursework in a museumrelated field such as Art Archaeology Life Sciences Earth Sciences History or Education.
