- Education in Urban and/or Regional Planning or related field
- Experience in municipal intermunicipal and/or regional planning
- Extensive experience in project management coordination negotiation and problem resolution including presentation to Councils or public authority boards and experience in land development or policy development from both public and private sector perspectives
- Membership or eligibility for membership with the Canadian Institute of Planners
Assets:
- Specialized training and/or certifications in project management change management public participation public administration local governance public engagement consultation facilitation mediation leadership and policy/bylaw development
Skills required for success:
- Proven leadership supervisory and teambuilding abilities
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with the capacity to interpret complex information regulations and policies and make timely decisions
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal including report writing policy drafting and engaging with diverse stakeholders
- Experience managing projects consultants and navigating the political environment while working with the public industry and elected officials

Conditions of employment and work environment:
- Up to: 1 permanent fulltime position
- Hours of work: 36.9 hours per week Monday Friday
- Salary Range: $102590 $128237 (Annually)
- This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement with the flexibility to work from both home and the worksite.
- This position is eligible for the EDO program (Earned Day Off).
- Valid Alberta Class 5 drivers licence (or provincial equivalent); the successful candidate must arrange for their own transportation to be reimbursed in accordance with City of Edmonton policy; this will require business auto insurance.

Senior Planner Opportunity Shape Edmontons Future!
Impact the physical social economic and environmental future of Edmonton as a Senior Planner. This role involves managing complex land development applications leading a team of professionals and implementing The City Plan. Youll oversee rezoning plan amendments and public engagement while providing expert advice to Council and representing the Administration. Leadership mentoring and staff development are key components of this position ensuring highquality service delivery and contributing to Edmontons sustainable growth.
What will you do
- Initiate prepare present amend and review large complex and diverse statutory plans land use plans and development plans
- Provide direction and leadership in the implementation of policies and objectives from CityPlan
- Lead or participate in managing major projects related to community development policy implementation and corporate initiatives and projects that will influence the decisionmaking of various stakeholders for Edmontons future growth
- Manage planning applications throughout the City including advising and negotiating with developers consultants and citizens circulating planning applications report writing and presenting recommendations
- Manage a professional team of planners and consultants to ensure best results and service delivery including recruiting training supervising and performance managing
- Provide expert planning advice and recommendations to City Council and Committees of Council Executive Leadership Team and Administration client departments other levels of government developers and businesses
- Perform other related duties as required
