Job Description

Atlas Building Systems (An AEP Company) located in Nanaimo BC provides professional design services supplies engineered wood products and manufactures roof and floor trusses to contractors builders and homeowners. We are currently looking for a fulltime permanent Truck Driver to support our operations. Reporting to the Production Manager our ideal candidate will be reliable adaptable and motivated with a focus on achieving results and providing a high degree of customer service as we expand our team and business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate heavy trucks safely for the transportation of goods.
  • Conduct daily safety and maintenance inspections on vehicles.
  • Plan and navigate routes efficiently to ensure timely delivery of cargo.
  • Load and unload cargo as necessary with a focus on safety.
  • Adhere to all regulatory and company policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch and operations teams.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service during pickup and delivery.
  • Participate in ongoing training to maintain and enhance skills.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Class 1 Drivers License with a clean driving abstract.
  • Experience in driving large trucks and a solid understanding of road safety regulations.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks and lift heavy objects as required.
  • Strong problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Effective communication skills.
