Job Description

Fahrenheit Advisors is assisting our client KidMed in the search for their HR Director. This is an opportunity to continue to build the HR function for a growing pediatric urgent care practice. Reporting directly to the CEO this hybrid position will be based in an office in Mechanicsville VA with time in their other offices in Midlothian Richmonds West End and Stafford.

Job Summary:

The HR Director will lead the human resources function for a 150person pediatric afterhours urgent care clinic ensuring a positive compliant and highperforming workplace. This role requires strong employee relations expertise to foster a supportive and engaging work environment for medical and administrative staff. The HR Director will oversee talent management employee relations benefits administration compliance and HR policy implementation while aligning HR strategies with the clinics mission of delivering highquality pediatric care.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

HR Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and execute HR strategies that support the clinics growth employee engagement and retention.
  • Provide leadership and guidance on HR best practices legal compliance and organizational development.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to ensure effective workforce planning and staff development.

Employee Relations & Workplace Culture

  • Act as a trusted advisor to leadership and staff on employee relations matters addressing concerns proactively to maintain a positive work environment.
  • Mediate and resolve workplace conflicts with professionalism confidentiality and fairness.
  • Conduct investigations into employee complaints and workplace issues ensuring compliance with employment laws and clinic policies.
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive workplace culture that aligns with the clinics values and commitment to patient care.

Talent Management & Retention

  • Oversee fullcycle recruitment onboarding and retention strategies to attract and retain top healthcare professionals.
  • Develop and implement performance management systems including goal setting feedback and career development initiatives.
  • Drive employee engagement efforts including recognition programs and professional development opportunities.

Compliance & HR Policy Implementation

  • Ensure compliance with federal state and local employment laws including wage and hour regulations FMLA ADA and OSHA.
  • Maintain and update HR policies employee handbook and procedures to reflect legal and organizational changes.
  • Manage workplace safety programs and coordinate risk management initiatives.

Compensation Benefits & HR Systems

  • Administer competitive compensation and benefits programs that align with market trends and employee needs.
  • Partner with finance to oversee payroll processing and compliance with labor laws.
  • Optimize HR systems and technology to streamline HR processes improve reporting and enhance the employee experience.

Job Requirements:

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
  • 8 years of HR experience with at least 3 years in a leadership role within healthcare or a related industry.
  • Strong employee relations skills with expertise in conflict resolution coaching and investigations.
  • Knowledge of employment laws HR compliance and healthcare industry regulations.
  • Experience managing benefits payroll and HR technology systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced afterhours urgent care environment demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • Skill in exercising high degree of initiative judgment discretion and decisionmaking abilities.
  • Exemplify the positive behaviors expected by all members of the team.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

  • Ability to be inoffice to perform all job duties unless otherwise agreed upon by employee and department manager
  • Ability to perform moderate physical effort such as walking typing and extended periods of sitting. Expected work hours are 40 hours a week 8:00am 5:00pm
  • Must have adequate vision hearing speech and sense of touch to enable one to quickly and accurately perform tasks such as reading small print monitoring equipment communicating with patients and peers and defining details.

Required Education/Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
  • 8 years of HR experience with at least 3 years in a leadership role within healthcare or a related industry.
