Job Summary
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth this Summer were looking to add an Industrial Engineering Intern located in our Buffalo Grove IL site.
Reporting to the Business Excellence Manager the student will will work on capacity and workload studies process improvement projects and operational metrics management in support of operations.
What a typical day looks like:
- Support the evaluation and identification of process improvement opportunities on all manufacturing related activities in our operation through time study
- Work on Kaizen Projects guided by an Industrial Engineer applying Lean techniques focusing on cost reduction initiatives by reducing/eliminating nonvalueadded activities in the process
- Support Kaizen teams to measure and validate results from improvement projects
- Help to develop management control systems to aid in Kaizen to Business Needs planning
- Attend team meetings to support project work as needed
Student qualities were seeking for this internship assignment:
- Senior level student pursuing degree in Industrial Engineering or related major
- Basic Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma knowledge
- Microsoft Office suite and Basic Auto CAD software skills
- Enthusiastic about working in a manufacturing environment
- Strong verbal presentation and written communication skills along with organizational analytical and problemsolving skills
- Ability to present Lean Training instruction to manufacturing employees
- Selfmotivated high energy and strong time management skills
- Demonstrated leadership skills public speaking and ability to work in teams and collaborate with others
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fastpaced environment
- Previous internship experience in manufacturing a plus!
Internship Program Requirements:
- Available to start on June 2nd and work 40 hours/week (inperson) for 1012 week Summer assignment
- Currently enrolled in 4year accredited university
- 3.0 minimum GPA
Pay Range (Applicable to Illinois)
$15.93 USD $21.90 USDHourly
