Job Description

The Division of Neonatal and Developmental Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at Stanford University School of Medicine/Stanford Medicine Childrens Health is seeking an academic neonatologist to join our team. The successful candidate will be appointed as a Clinical Assistant Professor Clinical Associate Professor or Clinical Professor in the Clinician Educator line. The major criterion for appointment as Clinician Educators is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care teaching administrative and/or scholarship appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.

Academic rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.

This faculty position will include serving as attending neonatologist at the Level IV NICU at Lucile Packard Childrens Hospital Stanford in Palo Alto CA. Our Lucile Packard Childrens Hospital (LPCH) NICU is a world class Level IV NICU that serves as a national referral center treating approximately 1000 newborns each year. The NICU also supports the highrisk obstetrics service at LPCH with around 5000 deliveries annually and closely collaborates with the Stanford Johnson Center Fetal and Pregnancy Health Program.

Our neonatologists work alongside experienced neonatal nurse practitioners neonatal hospitalists neonatalperinatal medicine fellows and pediatric residents. Our multidisciplinary environment includes colleagues from maternalfetal medicine and pediatric surgical and medical subspecialties. The Level IV NICU at LPCH provides state of the art tertiary care including HFOV inhaled nitric oxide therapeutic hypothermia ECMO and neonatal hemodialysis. Attending neonatologists supervise an active neonatal critical care transport team staffed with registered nurse transport specialists and respiratory therapists. The Division strongly supports faculty involvement in teaching clinical research and quality improvement efforts.

Requirements for this position include:

  • Eligibility for a medical license in the state of California.
  • Board certification or board eligibility in neonatalperinatal medicine.
  • Experience working in academic highacuity clinical environments.

This pay range reflects base pay which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. It does not include all components of the School of Medicines faculty compensation program or pay from participation in departmental incentive compensation programs.
