Description

The Oglethorpe University Mathematics Program is seeking adjunct instructors to teach Precalculus during the Fall 2025 semester (with other courses possible during later semesters). The lecture sections enroll no more than 22 students so the learning environment is ideal for oneonone facultystudent interactions and for implementing innovative pedagogical strategies. Successful applicants must be interested in progressive studentcentered models of mathematical instruction. Applicants will be expected to foster an inclusive learning environment by engaging in and promoting diverse teaching learning and mentoring communities.

Teaching assignments will be based on instructor experience areas of expertise and availability. Course sections meet 3 hours/week (either three 60minute sessions or two 90minute sessions). The semester runs from August 25thto December 5th with final exams in the following week. Final grades for the semester are due on Tuesday December 16th. Ph.D. or M.S. in Mathematics or related field. Those who are ABD (all but dissertation) are also encouraged to apply.

Compensation:
Compensation will be determined based on the number of credit hours taught.

$3300/lecture course 4 credit hours)

Starting and Ending Dates:
The first day of class for the 2025 Fall Semester Monday August 25th and the last day of class is Tuesday December 5th. Course grades are due by December 16th.
