Job Summary:

PPLs Employment Readiness team is looking for a skilled Employment Services Manager to join our team! This role oversees employment services in North Minneapolis primarily at the 800 W Broadway location. Responsibilities include managing NAZ and internal NS PPL resident employment services and

WIOA services across the Employment Training department.

Job duties and responsibilities include:

  • Oversee program design and management of the WIOA Adult contract through the City of Minneapolis and the NAZ employment services partnership. More contracts could be added over time.
  • Responsible for tracking outcome measurement and reporting on the abovelisted contracts.
  • Manage program budgets and work with the Associate Director of Employment and Training as needed to secure program funds.
  • Collaborate and maintain strong partnerships with 800 W. Broadway partners and provide creative program design and direction suggestions as needed as well as program status updates.
  • Maintain professional communication with participants partners and coworkers
  • Assist in coordinating and implementing program changes meetings and events as needed
  • Participate in Placement and Retention meetings with other Career Specialists and Managers
  • Participate in various PPL committees/meetings as needed
  • Serve on the Employment Training Leadership Team.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Social Work Education Human Services Management or a related field required AND/OR 3 years of work experience in Program Management (preferably in Nonprofit but not required) Project Management or a related field of work may serve as equivalent to education requirement.
  • 2 years of experience in a supervisory role.
  • Experience with program development management and .
  • Excellent organizational and problemsolving skills and the ability to work effectively in an environment of collaboration with multicultural staff and clients.
  • Experience working with people from diverse backgrounds ethnic cultures and economic and social situations.
  • Knowledge of employment and training trends and resources community agencies and other programs.
  • Experience in creating effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders including but not limited to participants employer partners postsecondary educators nonprofit agencies city and county representatives.
  • Demonstrated leadership organization communication staff management and project management skills.
  • Experience with community programs and resources Adult Basic Education services employment services and training programs.
  • Interest and ability in working with program data and databases.
  • Experience in career development job seeking and job retention skills.
  • Experience with coaching problemsolving and providing crisis intervention.
  • Valid Minnesota drivers license with a good driving record (consistent with PPLs driving policy)

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position supervises 3 or more direct reports

Minimum Requirements:

  • Knowledge of community programs specifically in Minneapolis as well as resources for participants with barriers to employment

Education and/or Experience:

  • BA/BS degree in Sociology/Anthropology Human Services or related field
  • 2 years of experience in Employment Services or another closely related field
  • 1 year of demonstrated leadership and oversight of fiscal accountability

Salary:$55000$65000/Yr. DOQ

Hours: Monday Friday 8:00 am4:30 pm

PPLs work structure strikes a balance between onsite presence at the office or satellite locations and remote work from home based on the programs needs. You will work with your supervisor to find the right balance for your team.
