Location: Zax Creamery 120 Main St Montgomery IN 47558
Job Type: PartTime
Flexible Schedule:
- Availability: Must be available for at least 23 days per week with preference for those able to commit to 4 shifts.
- Optional Days: Monday through Saturday
- Hours: 5:15 AM 11:30 AM
Job Description:
We are looking for a dedicated and energetic individual to join our team as a Morning Baker/Barista. This position is crucial for starting our day off right ensuring our baked goods are fresh and our coffee is ready when our doors open at 6:00 AM.
Key Responsibilities:
- Opening Duties:
- Arrive at the shop by 5:15 AM to begin opening procedures.
- Unlock and prepare the shop for customers including setting up the cash register turning on all equipment and preparing the coffee station.
- Ensure cleanliness of the shop including counters tables and floors.
- Baking:
- Prepare and bake a variety of baked goods according to our established recipes.
- Monitor oven temperatures and baking times to ensure quality and consistency.
- Decorate pastries where applicable and manage inventory of baking supplies.
- Barista Duties:
- Prepare and serve espressobased drinks tea and other beverages.
- Maintain the quality of coffee by grinding beans daily and cleaning equipment regularly.
- Provide excellent customer service engaging with customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Additional Tasks:
- Restock display cases and manage product rotation to ensure freshness.
- Handle cash transactions including operating POS systems and providing customer receipts.
- Assist in training new staff members on morning routines and baking procedures.
Requirements:
- Must have experience in baking or a strong willingness to learn.
- Previous barista experience is beneficial but not mandatory; training will be provided.
- Must be punctual and reliable as this position involves early morning duties.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods lift up to 30 lbs and work in a fastpaced environment.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
