Aston Park HCC is hiring an Assistant Director of Environmental Services

  • The position is Fulltime
  • Signon bonus of $1000 *paid out in increments over the first year of employment)
  • Starting Wage: $16/hour up to $18/hour depending on experience.
  • Benefits: Health insurance and other benefits are available for teammates working at least 20 hours per week.
  • Shift Availability: to be discussed upon interview

Position Purpose/Summary: The Assistant Director of Environmental Services works with and under the direction of the Director of Environmental Services (EVS) to ensure Environmental Services staff members provide housekeeping and laundry services necessary to maintain a sanitary safe and comfortable environment for residents.

Essential Functions: The Assistant Director of Environmental Services in accordance with State and Federal standards and regulations LSC philosophies objectives and policies effectively:

1. Assigns areas of responsibility to departmental staff as directed by the Director of EVS.

2. Organizes and directs environmental functions in consultation with the Director of EVS.

3. Participates in interviews with applicants recommends hiring and terminations to the Director of EVS and maintains supportive documentation.

4. Orients instructs coaches/supervises EVS staff members; schedules hours and assigns duties in consultation with the Director of EVS.

5. Evaluate work performance of EVS teammates members in consultation with the Director of EVS.

6. Maintains adequate supplies and arranges for repairs/replacement in consultation with the Director of EVS. Adheres to department budget.

7. Reviews and upholds departmental policies and procedures.

8. Participate in required training and services. Provides training for EVS staff members as assigned.

9. Participates in department and safety committee meetings as directed.

10. Assists in the maintenance and training of staff members on safety data sheets and information.

11. Maintains a safe environment utilizes safety standards and understands emergency

procedures and the use of emergency equipment.

12. Maintains confidentiality.

13. Reflects LSCs mission vision values and customer service standards in daily

interactions.

14. Completes other assigned duties as may be necessary for the orderly operation of the facility.

Supervisory Responsibilities if any: Responsible for supervising environmental services and laundry staff under the direction of the Director of EVS.

Qualifications

Qualifications (Minimum Job Requirements): The requirements listed below are

representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required for the job. Reasonable

accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential

functions

Education: High school graduate or higher education preferred.

Experience: One year experience in housekeeping and/or laundry in health care facility.

Specific skills and knowledge: Knowledge of accepted practices and procedures required to keep facility environment sanitary and safe. Knowledge and technical skills to operate:

1. Floor equipment including scrubber hispeed buffer vacuum carpet machine

2. Wetvac cleaner

3. Commercial washers and dryers

4. Chemical dispensing machines

5. Other housekeeping and laundry equipment including but not limited to: mops and mop

buckets spray bottles hand trucks carts dollies cutting tools.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

1. Good visual acuity and ability to communicate.

2. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 10 pounds on a regular basis.

3. Ambulatory in an erect position able to climb small step ladders stoop and bend at the waist repeatedly.

4. Occasional outdoor exposure. Exposure or potential exposure to blood and body fluids may be required.

5. Exposure to cleaning solvents and chemicals.
