Job Description
Job Summary
Americas Residential a division of ASSA ABLOY is looking for a highly motivated and practical Firmware Engineering Intern to work in our headquarter office in Lake Forest CA. This role will offer you the opportunity to be a part of a global company and the market leader in opening solutions.
You will be working closely with our Engineering teams and will an integral part of deeply knowledgeable engineering team that strive to build the most robust and reliable embedded lock systems using cuttingedge software development tools and practices. You will solve some of the most challenging problems in the embedded software space. The Internship role will have the opportunity to work with software firmware and hardware engineers on a regular basis. At the end or your internship you will present your accomplishments and results to the Engineering Leadership team.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- 70 Develop applicationlevel logic and software such as developing sensing and actuation algorithms diagnostics software and implementing interfaces and simulation capabilities
- 10 Work closely with a crossfunctional team to deliver highimpact software
- 10 Develop and/or enhance test automation framework
- 10 Presentation support: assist in creating presentation models and materials for engineering and executive review
Education and Experience Profile
- 3rd or 4th year or recent graduate majoring in Computer Science Software Engineering or STEM related curriculum.
Required Skills
- Basic knowledge of software engineering processes agile framework tools methods test development algorithms and data structures
- Basic knowledge of Embedded programming in C/C/Assembly & operating system
- Basic knowledge with embedded development and lowlevel coding
- Basic knowledge with RTOS firmware architecture device drivers or programming hardware components
- Experience with HardwareintheLoop (HIL) or SoftwareintheLoop (SIL) is a plus
- The ability to collaboratively work within a team environment and consistently make contributions to help the team reach their objectives
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with various levels of corporate structure.
- Selfstarter attitude and proficient in managing independent schedule/s.
Work Environment
- Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
- Hybrid work in our Lake Forest Headquarter office at least 3 days/week.
