Your purpose:
As aPress Operatoryou willbe responsible for the setup and highquality running on aFlexopress at an optimum speed without supervision.
Essential Functions:
- Setup & run high qualityon gearless sleeve press at optimum speedswithout supervision.
- Ability to tone colors of solvent ink.
- Assemble and adjust doctor blade chambers.
- Adjust press to maximize run speed.
- Load and unload print sleeves from press storage rack and rolls of material from press.
- Check ink viscosity.
- Ability to cleanink pumps.
- Ability to troubleshoot machine for any malfunctions or irregularities and address quality issues in cooperation with Quality Control staff.
- Must be able to oversee and train press assistant and incompletingresponsibilities.
- Responsible for maintaining a high level of cleanliness to keep machine operable.
- Ability to maintain housekeeping for the press and workstation.
- Responsible for condition of machine and work area.
- Work safely always.
Competencies:
- Communication.
- Basic Forklift Operation.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job the employee will be primarily in our climate1controlled facility. The plant floor is subject to vibration and equipment noise leading to a loud environment. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and might also be exposed to outside conditions tight spaces cleaning solvents and heights.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk and listen.
Continuous 6 or more hours per day) bending pushing pulling climbing stairs reaching lifting and grasping.
Continuous 6 or more hours per day) talking listening teaching and repetitive motion hand/wrist movement.
Continuous 6 or more hours per day) standing and walking.
Frequent 1 to 3 hours per day) work in a stooped position.
Good eyesight normal hearing.
Ability to move and lift objects frequently 50 lbs.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a fulltime position on Nights working 12hour rotating shifts 6:00am6:00pm). Days and hours may vary depending on assigned shift and productions requirements. This position may require significant work hours beyond the normal workday based on the demands of the business cycle or customer volume of business.
Licenses and Certifications:None.
Required Education and Experience:
- Ability to maintain quality safety and/or infection control standards.
- Ability to read and write English.
- Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.
- Knowledge of equipment operation and/or maintenance.
- Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.
- Ability to read sort check count and verify numbers.
- Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects.
- Ability to perform simple arithmetic.
- Ability to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel.
- High School diploma or GED and at least 2 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
- Packaging Industry experience a plus.
- Capable of multitasking the operation of production.
Supervisory Responsibility:This position has supervisory responsibilities.
