Job Description
Saint Stephens College is currently looking for a highly skilled handson Maintenance Handyman who will play a key role in maintaining repairing and improving the Colleges buildings and infrastructure.
The role involves handsonwork from routine inspections preventative maintenance to complex repairs across various systems including carpentry plumbing electrical and HVAC. You will lead repairs handle minor refurbishments assist with contractor work and maintain exterior areas. Your experience will bring a high standard to both routine and complex tasks.
This role requires a proactive skilled individual who can manage diverse tasks and ensure the Colleges infrastructure remains functional and safe.
You will be part of a great team of skilled members across grounds maintenance and cleaning. The team is busy and high functioning therefore flexibility of work roster is required from time to time due to the cyclical nature of the College changing priorities and weather/climate events that cant be planned for.
Position details:
- Permanent appointment
- 38 hours per week
- Pay rate will be negotiated with preferred applicant considering experience and qualifications

What do I need for the role
- Significant practical/handson experience in building maintenance with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues independently
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with various stakeholders
- Ability to undertake physically demanding maintenance (and manual) tasks including lifting bending and working in a variety of environments
- Proven ability to use tools and equipment safely while maintaining a clean and hazardfree work environment
- One or more of the relevant trade qualifications such as carpentry plumbing electrical and HVAC
- Valid Drivers license plus a Medium Rig/Heavy Rig license will be highly desirable
- Blue Card
