Were hiring midlevel and senior cabinetmakers for our woodshop in Seattle WA. Cabinetmakers at all levels participate in all aspects of building architecturally designed bespoke casework furniture and mill work for projects. A successful candidate will be naturally selfmotivated eager to learn and already comfortable operating basic hand and shop tools.
WHAT YOULL DO
As a cabinetmaker in our busy shop you will:
- Perform high quality finish work in the construction repair and assembly of cabinets shelves furniture and other wooden structures using woodworking machines and hand tools
- Match materials for color grain or texture; fit and connect parts ensuring proper joints and connections
- Assist in the coordination and prioritization of work assignments
- Stay on top of daily production expectations
- Monitor and assess individual performance and make improvements when necessary
- Assist with tool maintenance and calibration
- Setup operate and maintain woodworking machines to produce cabinet and furniture parts
- Guide others on proper tool use
- Disassemble cabinets and furniture and remove hardware for repair and refinishing; reassemble making repairs where necessary
- Review submittals and shop drawings
- Maintain a clean and organized shop
- Unload deliveries and perform site installs
- Earn and maintain the trust of our clients
- Perform similar or related duties as assigned
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
To be successful as a cabinetmaker youll need:
- A minimum of 2 years cabinet shop experience/education Minimum of 8 years for a senior/lead level cabinetmaker
- Valid drivers license and transportation to get get to work safely and ontime. Occasional driving of a company vehicle may be required.
- The ability to communicate clearly and effectively with a wide variety of people
- Knowledge of raw materials production processes quality control and other techniques for maximizing effective fabrication and installation
- Knowledge of design techniques tools and principal involved in production of technical plans blueprints and models
- Knowledge of machines and tools; including their design use basic repair and maintenance
- Familiarity with a variety of wood; color grain type and other characteristics
- The ability to read architectural drawings and precise details
- Understanding of basic arithmetic algebra geometry statistics and their applications
- To be adept at following detailed instructions and safety procedures
- Willingness to pursue ongoing educational opportunities in order to expand base knowledge in design and fabrication and to stay current in changing cabinetmaking products and processes
- The ability to plan and prioritize daily assignments to meet production expectations and schedules
- The ability to follow instructions take notes and perform work as designated
- The ability to be an active listener ask for help and suggest solutions
- To be a team player and foster a positive and constructive attitude environment
- To exhibit good manners respect for the team subcontractors and clients
- To consistently work toward a high level of accuracy and efficiency
- To continually learn and develop new skills and capabilities

- Basic knowledge of safety and health procedures (ongoing safety training provided)
