Job Description
Position: Manual Machinist
Reports to: Production Manager
Summary
The Manual Machinist independently converts raw materials into finished products ensuring accuracy and adherence to specifications.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Machine components using blueprints drawings and engineering specifications.
- Operate machinery such as Horizontal Mills Vertical Turret Lathes and Engine Lathes.
- Calculate dimensions and tolerances using precision tools like calipers and micrometers.
- Follow shop instructions and resolve quality issues with the team.
- Select tools and materials for machining tasks.
- Inspect completed parts for defects and ensure specifications are met.
- Complete required safety training.
- Work overtime and weekends as needed.
Skills and Abilities
- Proficient with machinery tools and production processes.
- Strong attention to detail and problemsolving skills.
- Physically able to stand crouch and lift up to 40 lbs.
- Basic computer skills and effective communication.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 5 years of manual machinist experience.
- Fluent in English.
