Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Clinical Lab Scientist II Flow Cytometry to join our dynamic laboratory team in Charlottesville VA. In this role you will perform complex diagnostic procedures ensuring accuracy and reliability in patient testing.
Responsibilities
- Conduct patient and Quality Control (QC) testing in routine and specialized laboratory areas including Flow Cytometry.
- Develop and maintain competency in assigned laboratory disciplines.
- Ensure proper inventory management usage and tracking of laboratory supplies and reagents.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and routine maintenance on laboratory equipment.
- Facilitate smooth workflow and transition between shifts.
- Actively participate in quality assurance safety and compliance programs.
- Investigate document and resolve any laboratoryrelated issues or complaints.
- Train and mentor Clinical Laboratory Scientist I staff and healthcare professional students.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Position Compensation
- Hourly Rate: $27.84 $44.54 based on experience and qualifications.
Shift: Day; Monday Friday
Minimum Requirements
Education:
- Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT); OR
- Associate Degree or 60 semester hours with at least 6 hours in Chemistry and 6 hours in Biology plus Accredited MLT Training; OR
- Bachelors degree in Biology Chemistry or a related science.
Licensure/Certification:
- ASCP certification required within 24 months of hire or military experience equivalent to ASCP certification.
