BASE SALARY INFORMATION
Equipment Operator Journey 1: $31.28 / Hour
Equipment Operator Journey 2: $33.07 / Hour
What you will be doing:
As a journeymanlevel operator you will operate heavy equipment to maintain roads clear snow and perform emergency responses. This includes inspecting equipment performing routine maintenance and handling snow and ice removal with plows graders and sanders. Youll also manage snow haul operations drainage tasks with steam generators and contribute to infrastructure maintenance such as asphalt concrete and bridge repairs. Additionally you will set up traffic control respond to emergencies and perform other maintenance duties as needed.

The working environment you can expect:
This position is based in Saint Marys Alaska which is located on the north bank of the Andreafski River within the Western District 450 air miles northwest of Anchorage and boasts a rich history dating back to its establishment in 1899 as a supply depot and winter headquarters for the Northern Commercial Companys riverboat fleet. Originally named Andreafsky the village was renamed St. Marys in 1955 in honor of the Roman Catholic Mission that played a significant role in the community. Today St. Marys thrives on an economy centered around commercial fishing subsistence activities and trapping reflecting the areas strong connection to its natural environment and traditional ways of life.
