Emergency Manager
The Emergency Manager will facilitate and lead all aspects of the emergency management program. This includes compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards as well as fostering process improvement in collaboration with internal and external emergency preparedness stakeholders. The program seeks to address all emergency management mission areas through prevention protection mitigation response and recovery. This individual performs additional related duties as directed to support the mission goals and objectives of the Patient Care and Research within the institution.
- Writing coordinating and organizing all Emergency Operations Plans (EOPs) and policies to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and integration with the overallinstitutionplans and policies.
- Develop and conduct emergency management drills andexercises including tabletop functional and fullscale drills to testinstitutionalpreparedness. Participate in a critique of each drill record lessons learned and develop improvement plans to address identified shortfalls.
- Support strategic risk reviews with key stakeholders to maintain the Hazard Vulnerability Analysis (HVA) and the comprehensive allhazards Emergency Operations Plan (EOP).
- Education & Training: create and implement emergency management training for departments/clinics/locations as applicable and ensure hospital leadership training on HICS.
- Coordination of disaster response and activation/maintenance of hospital incident command center.
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and institution.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
Minimum Education and/or Training:
- Bachelors degree in emergency management Criminal Justice Public Health Public Law Healthcare Administration/Management or related field.
- Five 5 years of experience in emergency management disaster preparedness public health law enforcement military.
- Prefer healthcare experience and working knowledge of DNV NFPA ISO and/or Joint Commission regulatory standards about emergency management preferred.
Licensure Registration and/or Certification Required by SJCRH Only:
Preferred candidate holds one of the following professional certifications:
- Certified Healthcare Emergency Professional or Certified Emergency Disaster Professional both through the International Board for Certification Safety Management (IBFCSM) preferred.
- Certified Emergency Manager or Associate Emergency Manager (both through the International Association for Emergency Managementpreferred.
- Healthcare Emergency Manager through the Association of Healthcare Emergency Preparedness Professionals preferred.
- Completing the following FEMA ICS courses:as these are standard foundational pieces in the emergency management profession preferred.

- Skills in recognizing and evaluating risk and collaboratively identifying and implementing mitigation measures to eliminate underlying causes for defects or issues.
- Ability to identify interpret and apply applicable quality/safety regulations healthcare and consensus standards impacting patient care research and other institution functions.
- Skills in planning prioritizing and organizing work well. Ability to deliver under tight timelines with focus on quality and efficiency.
Compensation
In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets experience and training licensure and certifications and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $86320 $154960 per year for the role of Emergency Manager.
