Job Description

  • Service customers; reviews and processes requests in person by telephone fax and/or mail.
  • Collects and receipts fees over the counter and by mail; acts as a cashier.
  • Inputs data into the computer data base in order for the Justice Courts to have easy access to the information.
  • Manages civil and criminal court documents by preparing filing processing entering issuing recording and setting dockets according to cases filed.
  • Prepares files assigns and dockets new civil and criminal cases based on office policy and state statute to ensure accuracy of filings.
  • Maintains confidentiality and security of documents data and courtroom proceedings.
  • Maintains knowledge understanding and proficiency of case management to minimize errors.
  • Trains instructs and evaluates subordinates.
  • Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • 2 years of job related experience within a legal system. Experience in Justice of the Peace Court preferred.
  • Good computer and typing skills (minimum 35 WPM).
  • Excellent research organizational and written skills.
  • Interpersonal skills and must have ability to interact with the public employees and elected officials.

STARTING SALARY RANGE: $20.10 $25.13 hourly based on qualifications

CLOSING DATE: Upon filling position
