Job Description
TheAfter SchoolYouthProgram Group Leader 011 will be responsible for planning organizing conducting and evaluating departmental programs activities and events and providing individual guidance and referrals as needed. We are offering an exciting opportunity for anAfter SchoolYouthProgram Group Leader 011at our Thomas S. MurphyClubhouse 011 locatedin Brooklyn NY.
This is a parttime positionworking 2025 hours a week Monday through Friday in the afternoon and evening.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities for the After SchoolYouth Program Group Leader 011Position:
- Recruit members for Social Recreation programs activities and events for members ages 59 (Explorers) 1012 (Juniors) and 1318 (Teens).
- Motivate members to participate in programs activities and events.
- Ensure the delivery and evaluation of assigned Teen Campus programs & services.
- Submit all required reports and records timely to the appropriate staff member.
- Collaborate with outside entities to enhance programs and services; families schools and other organizations and institutions as directed.
- Provide group and individual instruction.
- Assist with the completion of homework.
- Participate in organizational meetings and conferences as requested.
- Ensure a healthy safe environment in program areas.
- Supervise the care and maintenance of equipment and facility.
- Plan promote and conduct special events.
- Encourage and develop good sportsmanship and fair play amongst youngsters.
- Stimulate interest in activities through up to date bulletin boards announcements and flyers.
Required Skills/Knowledge for the After SchoolYouth Program Group Leader 011Position:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; some college experience is preferred and at least 1 year of experience in youth development.
- Demonstrated ability to plan conduct and supervise recreational/leadership programs and services.
- Ability to communicate effectively with young people from diverse backgrounds ages 1318 as well as a range of other organizational personnel in a courteous and professional manner.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Must be highly motivated and dedicated to the organizational mission.
