Description
DEPARTMENT: Accounting
POSITION: Medical Biller
SUPERVISOR: Director of Finance
HOURS: Fulltime Regular hours
HOURLY RATE: $17.00 to $20.00 per hour commensurate with experience.
Duties:
Responsible for all outpatient billings including corrected claims and rebilling as necessary.
Responsible for all outpatient claims appeals.
Responsible for verifying insurance.
Responsible for payment posting and reconciling outpatient billing/receivables.
Responsible for submitting monthly statements/reports and accounts receivable analysis report to the Director of Finance.
Responsible for collection of outstanding outpatient accounts receivable.
Performs annually an unduplicated patient count that is used for cost reporting purposes.
This position also requires full access to the billing and clinical modules on the Medent outpatient software as well as NetHealth Dentrix and ePaces. In order to complete all outpatient billing duties this access is necessary.
Performs duties according to the highest ethical and moral standards and in adherence with the
Facilitys corporate compliance plan and all applicable governing laws. Adheres to the Facilitys
confidentiality statement in accessing and safeguarding protected health information (PHI) of
residents patients and employees as necessary to perform job duties.
Any other duties as directed by the Director of Finance or CEO.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Graduate of a twoyear college or university with major in Accounting or Business Managementand one 1 year work experience in Accounting or related field. ICD coding knowledge required.
OR
High school graduate with three 3 years of experience in Accounting or related field with related experience. ICD coding knowledge required.
