Job Description

Job Title: Locum Adult Acute Speech and Language Therapist
Banding: 6/7
Location: Nottingham.
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 3 months (Full/Parttime available)

Opening Paragraph:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Locum Adult Acute Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at Queens Medical Centre and City Hospital Campus in Nottingham. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic multidisciplinary team providing essential speech and language therapy services to adult patients with complex communication and swallowing difficulties. The role offers flexibility for both fulltime and parttime candidates and provides a great chance to contribute to the care and rehabilitation of patients in an acute healthcare setting.

Responsibilities:
As a Locum Adult Acute Speech and Language Therapist you will be responsible for the assessment diagnosis and treatment of adults with swallowing and communication disorders including those with dysphagia. You will work closely with other healthcare professionals to deliver tailored interventions that improve the quality of life for patients. Your role will include managing a caseload of patients conducting assessments developing therapy plans and providing education and support to patients and their families. You will also be expected to work independently with the ability to manage complex cases and provide highquality care.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A recognised Speech and Language Therapy Degree/qualification.
  • HCPC registration.
  • At least 2 years clinical experience with a minimum of 1 year of adult acute experience. Ideally NHS experience.
  • Dysphagia trained with signedoff competencies and able to see patients independently.
  • Established knowledge of assessment and therapeutic interventions for patients with swallowing and communication difficulties.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to work autonomously managing a diverse caseload of patients.
