Job Description

Position Summary
Roosevelt seeks an adjunct instructor to teach General Chemistry II discussion and laboratory for the Fall 2014 Semester (August 23 2014 December 12 2014. This instructor will teach one discussion & laboratory section of general chemistry II. This course is offered at the Chicago/Downtown campus. Responsibilities include: Provide effective engaging review of material and assistance to students in discussion section. Work closely with primary course instructor to develop administer and grade assessments including quizzes and exams. Work closely with primary course instructor lab manager and undergraduate teaching assistant to ensure smooth implementation of laboratory experiments. Provide direct handson laboratory instruction to students including reliably enforcing safe laboratory practices. Grade discussion and lab assignments in a timely fashion and provide constructive feedback to students. Provide clear and timely communication to students regarding their course progress using via Blackboard LMS and email. Maintain accurate records of student progress including timely submission of midterm and final grades.

Preferred Qualifications
Earned Ph.D. and previous teaching experience preferred.
