Beta Engineering is currently looking for a Civil Engineer to join our team. Civil Engineers (CE) are responsible for the design of structures foundations overhead wires aluminum bus and/or site grading plans for electrical substations and transmission lines. CEs are tasked with ensuring that designs and their applications are completed to code and standards set forth by the appropriate authoritative bodies. In addition CEs are required to work with customer representatives and Project Management Teams to ensure designs meet appropriate specifications and requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Designs and interprets drawings for the following: transmission structures transmission foundations transmission hardware assemblies underground pipe networks grading substation structures foundations overhead lines lightning protection systems and aluminum bus systems.
Reviews drawings for substation equipment vendor supplied equipment and customer standards.
Ensures compliance with customer specifications and design codes.
Problem solves issues related to design construction and compliance.
Creates and checks material list descriptions for transmission lines.
Answers technical questions posed by construction managers field staff customers and their representatives.
Recognizes and recommend methods to improve every customers experience.
Travels periodically to both customer offices for project meetings and to job sites for construction visits.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 5 years of experience designing transmission line systems.
Bachelors degree (or higher) in Civil Engineering or Electrical Engineering is required.
PE is required
Strong background in PLSCADD PLSPole MFAD or LPile Microsoft Word Excel and PowerPoint required; strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
COMPENSATION:
$100000 $175000 per year (potential for beyond scale)
Salary range is estimated. Actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidates experience and qualifications and application of any geographic salary differential.
