Key Responsibilities
Assist Lead Quality Engineer and DoQ on the maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS)
Resolve customer issues related to quality
Process and Product Monitoring
Participate and lead internal and external audits
Monitor supplier performance
Perform annual evaluations of suppliers
Train/mentor associates on quality awareness
Implement and monitor work cell Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
Responsible for Measuring & Test Equipment program
Prepare certification documentation
Review customer contracts/specifications design documents purchase orders and other documents to ensure that customer and regulatory requirements are met
Other related duties as required
Desired Background and Skill Requirements
Proficient in Microsoft Excel Word and Outlook
Excellent communication skills both verbally and written
4 years technical degree or minimum of 2 years experience in related industry
Working experience in a lean manufacturing environment
Working knowledge of manufacturing methods procedures and costreduction techniques.
Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2000 or similar quality requirements. Working knowledge of nuclear standards is also desirable.
Certification to ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) is a plus!
Have a fundamental understanding of quality philosophies principles systems methods tools standards organizational and team dynamics customer expectations and satisfaction supplier relations and performance leadership training interpersonal relationships improvement systems and professional ethics.
Have a fundamental understanding of a quality system and its development documentation and implementation with respect to domestic and international standards or requirements.
Have an understanding of the audit process including types of audits planning preparation reporting results and followup.
Able to develop and implement quality programs including tracking analyzing reporting and problem solving.
Able to plan control and assure product and process quality in accordance with quality principles which include planning processes material control acceptance sampling and measurement systems.
Have basic knowledge of reliability maintainability and risk management including key terms and definitions modeling systems design assessment tools and reporting.
Have a thorough understanding of problemsolving and quality improvement tools and techniques. This includes knowledge of management and planning tools quality tools preventive and corrective actions and how to overcome barriers to quality improvements.
Able to acquire and analyze data using appropriate standard quantitative methods to facilitate process analysis and improvements.
Physical requirements may include lifting up to 50 pounds.
Lives the continuous improvement philosophy; develops and adopts new ideas and concepts.
Must be able to work effectively in a team environment
