The Building & Construction team provides assurance testing inspection and certification services and building science solutions to deliver Total Quality Assurance to the built environment. The team offers the architectural engineering and construction (A/E/C) industry with a full suite of capabilities both in the lab and on site.

What are we looking for

The Building Materials Technician will support the Building and Construction business by performing fire testing of building materials as per standard methods or procedures recording data and performing routine calculations.Equipment and test methods are specified and routine procedures are followed. Were looking for someone withability to read interpret and understand standard test methods Quality policy manuals safety rules and procedure manuals.

What youll do:

• Setup test apparatus operateequipment mainequipment and facilities
• Preparetest samples
• Small intermediate and largescale specimen preparation
• Assist with client product installation (when needed)
• Read understand and interpret client and manager provided installation drawings and procedures
• Work with the Project Manager technicians and clients to ensure the preparation of all project details are complete to satisfaction
• Follow all health safety and housekeeping policies including keeping the work area organized
• Implement ideas and execute practices to ensure safety reliability improved quality reduce costs and comply with company policies
• Perform other duties as assigned

What it takes to be successful in this role:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Ability to utilize basic shop equipment and various hand tools
• Ability to review understand and convey technical information in an effective manner
• Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out test instructions
• Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables
• Ability to work in a fastpaced multitasking environment
• Ability to utilize basic shop equipment and various hand tools
• Ability to Squat lift and climb
• Must be able to carry up to 80pounds
• Strong communication skills in both verbal and written formats
• Must be quality driven and customer focused
• Valid drivers license and reliable driving record is required
