Senior Support Worker

This advert is for one full time Senior Support Worker based in Glasgow.

The salary for this role isper annum

Who are we:

The National Autistic Society is here to transform lives challenge perceptions and build a society that works for autistic people.

We support people to understand their diagnosis and how this may impact on their life and the lives of those around them.

Our residential services provide accommodation and supportfor autistic adults 52 weeks a year 24 hours a day in urban and rural settings.

We also provide supported living services for autistic adults who need extra help to live in their own homes or within our accommodation whether as tenants or owner occupiers living alone or with others.

Who we are looking for:

We are looking for a Senior Support Worker with the passion to work with our fantastic team in Glasgow.

Youll be resilient supportive and sensitive towards the needs of autistic people. Suitable candidates will have experience of management and/or shift leading within a social care setting.

Being a Senior Support Worker takes leadership skills patience and commitment. But working with autistic people gives so much more in return.

Your working pattern in this role will require flexibility to meet the needs of the people supported and their families and will include evening and weekend working.

The role includes:

  • Helping individuals achieve independence and personal goals
  • Supporting and transporting individuals to integrate into their community
  • Develop individuals home making skills and personal chores
  • Transforming lives and achieving results for autistic adults

Possession of a driving licence (minimum one year) ispreferred

The overall aim of our service is to increase peoples life skills and confidence and make sure that they can take part in the everyday life of their community. The support we offer is based on individual peoples needs and wishes we develop personcentred plans and review them regularly. The service currently operates in GlasgowWest Dunbartonshire East Dunbartonshire Stirling and Renfrewshire though we can potentially take referrals from all areas of Scotland.

To protect our autistic adults all staff are required to have a criminal background check. In line with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) registration successful candidates will work towards relevant qualifications.

Membership of the PVG scheme is an essential requirement of the post and the National Autistic Society will cover the cost of your application.
