Job Description

Description

The Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) Technician will support the Wichita Kansas refinery location ensuring the reliability and efficiency of instrumentation automation and electrical systems. This role is critical in troubleshooting maintaining and optimizing industrial equipment. The selected candidate will work crossfunctionally with mechanics operators and other maintenance staff to support plant operations.



Responsibilities

  • Diagnose troubleshoot and calibrate instrumentation control systems and PLC logic.
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on electrical and control systems.
  • Install and maintain fiber and copper communication networks.
  • Troubleshoot and program PLCs (Allen Bradley Rockwell).
  • Maintain and optimize SCADA DCS and automation systems.
  • Ensure FactoryTalk software is properly implemented and maintained.
  • Provide crossfunctional support including pump and motor troubleshooting.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and refinery safety regulations.
  • Maintain detailed calibration logs and maintenance records.
  • Participate in 24/7 oncall support on a rotating basis.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.


Qualifications

Qualifications for Internal Candidates

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 5 years of industrial instrumentation and electrical experience required.
  • Experience in a refinery chemical plant or heavy industrial setting preferred.
  • Proficiency in electrical schematics P&IDs and PLC ladder logic.
  • Experience with PLC troubleshooting and programming (Allen Bradley Rockwell).
  • Knowledge of SCADA DCS and networking protocols.
  • Familiarity with FactoryTalk Radar Master and DeltaV systems preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work at heights up to 40 feet.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problemsolving skills.
