The Team
As a Frontend Engineer on the Inbox team you will play a crucial role in developing Protons most vital services including Mail and Calendar. We expect you to be customercentric continuously learning passionate about technology and usability. You are an adept at turning technical complexities into seamless user experiences. Effective teamwork collaboration with Product Design APIs and your team and datadriven decisionmaking are essential aspects of this role.
Current Projects:
- Developing innovative productivity tools that seamlessly integrate with our privacycentric ecosystem.
- Advancing the frontiers of cryptography to ensure user data remains secure even in the face of emerging technologies such as quantum proof encryption.
- Expanding Protons reach into the B2B segment bringing privacy and security to businesses worldwide.
- Pushing the boundaries of innovation with projects like Scribe the worlds first private AI in a consumer product.

What you will do
- Developing deploying and supporting highquality user experiences within our Product portfolio including feature development and implementation.
- Transforming product specifications into technical requirements and lead your team to their successful implementation.
- Enhancing Protons software development lifecycle tools and code structure for an improved developer experience through technical leadership and architecture.
- Writing clear concise and testable code to maintain and elevate the quality of our codebase.
- Managing the scoping planning and of new features technical initiatives and greenfield projects (depending on seniority).
- Fostering a culture of learning creativity and accountability for the best possible work through mentorship and team development role modelling quality assurance and performance optimisation
Job requirements
While we prefer candidates who cover the entire skillset dont hesitate to apply if youre not an exact match as were willing to help you grow in certain areas.
- Extensive experience of professional software development using JavaScript ES6 or TypeScript.
- Experience with React or 2 similar frameworks developing performant and reusable components.
- Familiarity with best practices for ensuring code quality including CI/CD.
- Ability to make architectural decisions and contribute to strategic planning and product direction
- Experience working in a distributed team.
Nice to have:
- Experience inB2B SaaSpreferably inonline privacyand/orproductivitycontexts.
