Job Description
We are currently looking to recruit for a Senior Formualation & Analytical Scientist based at our campus in Abingdon Oxfordshire UK.
Role: Senior Formulation & Analytical Scientist
Job Type: Fixed Term Contract
Working Hours: 40 hours per week Monday to Friday

Evotec is a leader in the discovery and development of novel small molecule with operational sites in Europe and the US. The Company has built substantial drug discovery expertise and an industrialised platform that can drive new innovative small molecule compounds into the clinic. In addition Evotec has built a deep internal knowledge base in the treatment of diseases related to neuroscience pain oncology inflammation and metabolic diseases. Leveraging these skills and expertise the Company intends to develop bestinclass differentiated therapeutics and deliver superior sciencedriven discovery alliances with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.
Primary Responsibilities will include:
- Responsible for performing Early formulation development and analytical experiments for R&D projects in collaboration with other scientific staff to an acceptable quality standard within a given time frame.
- Clearly and concisely recording and communicating the results to all relevant (internal/external) stakeholders.
- Responsible for the daytoday planning and of assigned projects including formulation design development and characterisation.
- Provide guidance and training to Junior Scientist and ensures that the correct procedures are being followed and the quality of work is to an appropriate standard.
- Additionally you will work closely with cross functional groups such as API development Drug discovery Safety assessment and Drug product clinical sites.
Key skills:
- PhD MSc or Degree in pharmacy pharmaceutical science chemistry chemical engineering or related subject.
- Developed and possesses an indepth understanding of the science and technology of pharmaceutical dosage forms and associated characterisation techniques and apply this knowledge to development a required earlystage formulation.
- Experience in Preclinical formulation development and/or manufacturing (nonGLP and GLP) is desirable but not essential.
- Familiarity with UPLC / HPLC XRPD DSC TGA GVS PSD instrumentation.
- Proficient in update/report writing and reviewing.
- Proven expertise in formulation development as evidenced through sustained high performance in a number of previous projects.
- Proven ability to solve problems on assigned projects.
- Able to take appropriate day to day technical decisions regarding formulation development.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills and demonstrated an ability to work collaboratively and effectively in multidisciplinary teams in a fastpaced environment.
- Selfmotivated independent enthusiastic open minded view and problemsolving skills.
