The Finance Area of Rutgers School of BusinessCamden seeks applications for a Lecturer to develop and teach a course on Tax Planning and Financial Regulation as part of our online Master of Science in Finance MSF Wealth Management graduate degree program starting in Spring 2025. This position may extend beyond that term. The course will be delivered entirely online in an asynchronous format and its offering is subject to sufficient enrollment. The Tax Planning and Financial Regulation course introduces students to the tax planning financial regulation and ethical standards topics that are included in the Certified Financial Planner CFP exam. Tax planning topics include: Income tax fundamentals law and calculations Tax management techniques Taxation of businesses trusts and estates and property transactions Financial regulation topics include: Fundamentals of financial institutions Financial services regulations and requirements Ethics topics include: CFP Board Code of Ethics and Standards of Conduct Fiduciary standard and application The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and teaching this new course. Course development entails selecting a textbook drafting a syllabus recording lecture videos designing assessments and organizing the course within Canvas Rutgerss Learning Management System in accordance with the schools guidelines for online teaching. The school offers a onetime stipend for course development. A draft of the syllabus must be submitted by June 1 2024 for review. While teaching the course the candidate is expected to check for student questions daily and respond within 24 hours make weekly announcements regarding course content and upcoming deadlines provide timely feedback on student work facilitate student interactions offer virtual office hours as needed and comply with grade submission policies and deadlines. Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities: Candidates should demonstrate excellence in teaching especially in an online environment. Practical experience in tax planning and/or financial regulation will be considered an advantage.
