Job Description

Lexington ISD is seeking a passionate and dedicated Assistant Band Director to join our music department. The primary responsibility of this position is to oversee and manage all aspects of the middle school band program while assisting with the high school band program. We are looking for an individual who is committed to fostering a love of music providing quality instruction and ensuring a positive and productive environment for all students. Percussion specialist preferred but all applicants will be considered. Key Responsibilities:Manage and direct the middle school band program including rehearsals performances and community events.Assist the high school band program in daily operations including rehearsals performances and preparation for district and state competitions.Develop and implement a balanced engaging and challenging curriculum for both middle school students.Provide individual and group instruction for all band sections with a focus on improving musicianship and performance skills.Coordinate and facilitate all logistics related to rehearsals performances and travel for both middle and high school bands.Work closely with the band director to maintain the growth and development of the entire band program.Ensure the proper care and maintenance of band instruments and equipment.Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages student participation growth and collaboration.Communicate regularly with students parents and staff regarding program updates performances and student progress.Assist with recruitment efforts and work to build the band program at all grade levels.
