Starting Wage from $19.41/hour
(Pay range varies with experience)
- Drives and operates ROW vehicles and equipment and able to safely and efficiently complete tasks and projects
- Performs daily inspection and maintenance of chainsaws and safety equipment; must be able to safely and efficiently operate chainsaws. Notifies supervisor in the event of safety hazards
- Performs right of way clearing duties to include the following: bucket work climbing work ground clearing cutting chipping piling burning and other disposal of brush
- Safely operates special equipment to control vegetation along right of way
- Inspect ROW in front of equipment to flag obstacles (i.e. phone pedestals guy wire septic tanks/septic systems water and gas lines/meters etc.
- Perform traffic control duties around work area as needed
- Must understand general safety rules and policies and promote good relations with other crew members patron cooperatives and the general public
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- In pursuant of the Arkansas Medical Act 593 this position is a designated safetysensitive position according to AECC/AECI standards and processes
- As a condition of employment this position requires a postoffer preemployment Fitness for Duty Exam and DOT Physical
- At least 3 months experience and/or training
- A valid drivers license is required
- Able to work in outside or inside working environment wherein there are potentially hazardous working conditions and lifethreatening situations exist (fire chemical moving mechanical parts electrical sources fumes airborne particles heights dangerous people etc.
- Able to work in extreme heat or cold
- Able to work in extremely loud areas
- Able to perform highly repetitive and physical functions
- Must be able to travel to various locations and stay overnight as required to complete work assignments
- Must be able to work extra hours when necessary and report to work whenever needed during nonscheduled working periods
- Training specified in 29 CFR 1910.269(a)1(i)(E)
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
- Special Equipment Operator I At least 3 months of experience
- Special Equipment Operator II At least 1 year of experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Commercial Applicator Technician
- Class A or B CDL License
- Temporary Traffic Control Certification
