Job Description
The Woodward School for Girls has been educating and empowering young women in grades 612 since 1894. Centrally located in downtown Quincy MA just steps from the MBTA Red Line and Commuter Rail Woodward welcomes students from over thirtyfive communities throughout the South Shore and Greater Boston. General Expectations: Woodward School invites applications for a dynamic fulltime High School Spanish Educator beginning in theacademic year. We seek an experienced language instructor with proven expertise in Spanish language instruction and a passion for culturally responsive teaching. The successful candidate will demonstrate advanced proficiency in Spanish innovative teaching methodologies and the ability to inspire young women in their language learning journey. Responsibilities: 1. Strong SpanishEnglish bilingual proficiency collaborative teaching experience and skill in dynamically adapting curriculum to address students evolving educational needs. 2. Implement the program core values and mission. 3. Establish and implement behavioral norms and maintain consistent routines in the classroom and throughout the school building. 4. Provide differentiated classroom instruction through the implementation of curriculum content methods and materials guided by the MA Curriculum Frameworks and Common Core State Standards.5. Formulate lesson plans monthly projected plans and curriculum plans as specified by Supervisor.6. Be willing and prepared to be a practitioner of diversity equity and inclusion practices in pedagogy. 7. Showcase innovation in all classroom practices both with and without a variety of technologies.8. Review of all cumulative records of assigned students including IEPs evaluations progress notes status reports medical background etc. 9. Maintain parent contact in cooperation with other school staff (i.e. phone log email etc..10. Maintain collaborative communication with staff to ensure consistent educational delivery. 11. Attend assigned duties (i.e. lunch morning duty clubs advisory affinity groups etc.. 12. Attend weekly staff meetings inservice training parent meetings studentcentered staff meetings. 13. Establish goals to continue professional growth and development. 14. Maintain a respectful positive proactive professional attitude. 15. Develop an ongoing problem solving relationship with the supervisor seeking guidance as necessary. 16. Use a wide variety of assessments including individual common and external assessments to inform and evaluate teaching and learning. 17. Compile progress and report card grades and/or individual student progress reports as required and within estimated timelines. 18. Communicate student progress regularly with parents and/or community when necessary. 19.
