Job Description

Responsibilities of a Cook:
- Prepare and serve meals for residents and guests.
- Prepare all food items according to standard recipes and / or as specified on resident check to ensure consistency of product to the residents.
- Follow recipes menu notes and production sheets accurately
- Prepare food in proper amount based on number of servings to be served
- Assist other cooks with prep and special functions
- Document finished cooking temperatures and temperatures of foods before leaving the kitchen
- Properly clean and sanitize work stations and tables.
Qualifications of a Cook
- 13 years of culinary experience preferably in longterm care
- Ability to work every OTHER weekend and holiday rotations
- Knowledge of all areas of production including soups sauces entrees sides and ability to produce some desserts.
- Ability to follow recipes and production guidelines
- Knowledge of all cooking equipment including proper use and care/cleaning/sanitizing of equipment and production areas
- Ability to work independently as well as with a team
- Knowledge of producing food items for specialized diets a plus.
- ServSafe certification preferred
Applicants selected for an interview will be expected to complete a cooking demo.
This position requires proof of an Influenza vaccination unless approved for a religious or medical exemption.
