Job Description

Primary Purpose
The PartTime Instructor provides instruction to students in General Biology classes directs student discussion selects and implements laboratory activities and evaluates student performance of course outcomes.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Provide instruction in General Biology specifically BI 101 General Biology: Cells and Genes using approved course outcome guides. Teaching assignments anticipated to be inperson classes on Prineville Redmond and Bend campuses during Fall Winter and Spring terms in academic year 202425. Hold at least one scheduled office hour per class per week for student help sessions and program assistance. Utilize College tools and resources including the Learning Management System and Disability Services software to support teaching activities as appropriate. Participate in course assessment. Perform other essential job functions as assigned that support the overall objective of the position.

Minimum Requirements
Education: Masters Degree in Biology or closely related field from an accredited institution; or a minimum of 30 quarter hours 20 semester hours) of graduate credit in academic courses in the field of Biology. Experience: One year of successful College teaching experience in the subject area or evidence for the potential for excellence in teaching.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience: Teaching experience relevant to lower division college Biology courses.
