Vast is looking for a Security Officer I reporting to the Senior Supervisor Security to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of artificialgravity humanrated space stations. This will be a fulltime nonexempt position located in our Long Beach location.
We are currently hiring for the below schedules:
- Weekday Morning Shift: MondayFriday: 7:00 AM 3:30 PM
Key Responsibilities
- Verify the identity and point of contact of all visitors ensuring compliance with facility access procedures.
- Issue and manage visitor and temporary employee badges ensuring only authorized individuals enter designated areas.
- Conduct routine patrols of all buildings perimeter areas and critical infrastructure to detect and deter unauthorized activity.
- Observe document and report any suspicious behavior security violations or safety concerns to security management.
- Escort vendors and contractors as required ensuring compliance with facility security protocols.
- Provide security assistance to other departments as needed including support for special events or operational activities.
- Maintain accurate and detailed incident reports shift logs and security documentation.
- Respond professionally to securityrelated inquiries safety concerns and emergency situations in accordance with company policies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the overall security mission.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to lift 25lbs
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- BSIS Guard Card
- Two or more years of experience in security operations preferably in an industrial aerospace or manufacturing environment.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Strong customer service skills with a professional and courteous demeanor
- Ability to deescalate situations verbally and maintain composure under pressure.
- Prior BSIS or equivalent security training such as deescalation tactics report writing or defensive tactics.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to provide clear and concise incident reports.
- Ability to work independently while following security procedures and protocols.
Additional Requirements
- Must be available to work all required shifts including overtime weekends and holidays based on operational needs.
- Ability to stand walk and conduct patrols for extended periods across various terrains.
- Must be able to work in various climate conditions including heat wind and cold.
Salary Range: California
$20 $23 USD
U.S. EXPORT CONTROL COMPLIANCE STATUS
The person hired will have access to information and items subject to U.S. export controls and therefore must either be a U.S. person as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.62 or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing.
