Job Description

The Strong Kids Creator position offers a unique opportunity to join the MacKillop Rural Unit.

In this dynamic role you will play an integral part in shaping programs that nurture and empower children support parents and offer crucial services to young people in need. If you are dedicated to making a difference and working in a collaborative supportive environment we want to hear from you!

About the Role:

The Strong Kids Creator sits within the MacKillop Rural Unit which provides:

Family support and supported playgroups

Parenting and early childhood education

Counselling and support to young people who are vulnerable and at risk of homelessness

Inhome accommodation and independent living supports to adults with a disability

Early childhood intervention to children with a disability

This is an ongoing Parttime opportunity 16 hours a week) based in Lightning Ridge or Brewarrina NSW within our Mobile Childrens Services / MacKillop Rural Program. The position reports to theProgram Manager.

Key Selection Criteria:

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • The ability to run supported playgroups
  • An appreciation for Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children young people and their families
  • The ability to travel alone each day to various communities in a automatic 4wheel drive vehicle
  • The ability to build positive working relationships

You must have a:

Valid and current Drivers License;

Satisfactory Criminal History Check (paid for by MacKillop);

Valid Employee Working with Children Check.

Valid and current NDIS Workers Screening Check (for risk assessed / client facing roles). MacKillop can assist successful candidates with their application.
