Our integrated recycling and manufacturing operations means we collect paper and cardboard from households and businesses and turn it into up to 100 recycled paper. We are also home to the worlds most environmentally friendly kraft paper mill in Tumut providing highquality kraft paper for domestic and international markets. The paper we produce supplies our board facilities across Australia and New Zealand where it is remanufactured into cardboard packaging for the food and beverage industry.
About the Role
At Visy Paper Mills in Smithfield NSW we are seeking a skilled and dedicated Industrial Electrician to join our team. You will be responsible for installing maintaining and repairing electrical systems and equipment within our stateoftheart paper manufacturing plant. Your role is crucial in ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance of all electrical components working closely with other maintenance personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Install maintain and repairelectrical systems including wiring lighting and control systems within the paper manufacturing plant.
- Diagnose and troubleshootelectrical issues to ensure minimal disruption to production.
- Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenanceon electrical equipment.
- Collaborate with maintenance team membersto improve overall plant efficiency and safety.
- Ensure compliancewith all safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain accurate recordsof maintenance activities and electrical repairs.
- Assist in the installation and commissioningof new equipment and machinery.
- Respond promptly to emergency breakdownsto minimize production downtime.
What You Will Bring to the Team
- Qualified Electricianwith a valid electricians license. (AUS Recognized)
- Minimum of 2 years of experienceas an electrician preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems: AC & DC electrical systems High Voltage Switching Cert (Desirable) and both LV and HV electrical knowledge.
- Technical support and reportingskills including maintaining transformers and switchgear and performing various HSErelated inspections.
- Proficiency in reading and interpretingelectrical schematics and blueprints.
- Excellent problemsolving skillsand attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skillsand ability to follow instructions.
- Knowledge of safety protocolsand regulations related to electrical work.
- Valid drivers license.
- Willingness to work in a rotating scheduleand perform standby services as per site requirements including weekends and public holidays.
