The ideal candidate will have a background in robotics with an interest in handson development with an actively running commercial fleet of delivery robots. The candidate will possess a background in one or more areas of robotic systems (localization machine learning motion planning perception or simulation). The candidate will be paired with a Senior Engineer to serve as a mentor during the 12week paid internship. This is an opportunity to grow personally and professionally while innovating in a fastpaced environment and helping to improve our robotic platform.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Complete a mutually beneficial internship project aligned with the candidates interests and the current priorities of ST Engineering Aethon.
Work with a crossfunctional team of engineers to solve complex realworld robotic problems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Currently pursuing a Masters Degree or PhD in Computer Science Robotics or a related technical degree.
Strong software engineering background with a knowledge of modern software engineering best practices.
Experience using modern C (C11 C14 C17.
Strong problemsolving skills and the ability to learn.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal.
Experience using Linux as a development environment.
DESIRABLE:
Experience with ROS (Robot Operating System).
Computer vision experience.
Motion planning experience.
Localization experience
Experience developing software using Python or Go.
