Job Description

Xavier University is seeking applications for a Seasonal Groundskeeper. This is a 40 hour per week seasonal position. The period of employment is April 1 2025 to October 31 2025.

Responsibilities includes but not limited to:

  • With appropriate personal protective equipment the Temporary Groundskeeper will operate hand and power tools to cut trim edge grass turf prunes and remove trees and shrubs trim hedges mulches and applies chemicals.
  • Applies top soil grades surfaces prepare seed beds plants bulbs and weeds flower beds.
  • Maintain athletic fields by dragging laying out lining and painting.
  • Snow removal.
  • Keep university grounds clean (e.g. pick up trash and other debris; operates a variety of equipment to clean sidewalks steps patios and parking lots when necessary).
  • Lifting and moving heavy equipment and/or materials unassisted up to 125 pounds.
  • Follow all established safety procedures.
  • Assists other departments in related activities i.e. set up and deliver equipment furniture supplies and Christmas lights.

Requirement:

  • Possession of a valid drivers license and driving record deemed insurable underXaviers policies.
