Job Description
The duties below are representative of the duties of the classification and are not intended to cover all of the duties performed by the incumbent(s) of any particular position. Teach developmental English as a Second language courses including writing reading and listening/speaking courses.
Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a Masters or above in TESL TESOL applied linguistics with a TESL emphasis linguistics with a TESL emphasis English with a TESL emphasis or education with a TESL emphasis OR Bachelors in TESL TESOL English with a TESL certificate linguistics with a TESL certificate applied linguistics with a TESL certificate or any foreign language with a TESL certificate AND Masters or above in linguistics applied linguistics English composition bilingual/bicultural studies reading speech or any foreign language OR the equivalent (see below) Demonstrated cultural competence sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic socioeconomic cultural disability gender identity sexual orientation and ethnic backgrounds of community college students faculty and staff
